Damaged or Lost Shipments
Il Regalo is not liable for products that are damaged or lost during transit.
If your order arrives damaged, please contact the shipping carrier directly to file a claim. Please retain all packaging materials, shipping labels, and damaged goods, as they may be required during the claims process.
Customs Duties, VAT & Taxes
All international orders are shipped on a Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU) basis.
This means that import duties, customs fees, VAT, GST, customs clearance fees, brokerage fees, administrative fees, local taxes, and any other import-related charges are not included in the product price or shipping fee and, where applicable, must be paid by the recipient.
These charges are determined by the customs authorities and/or the shipping carrier in the destination country.
Customs regulations vary significantly between countries. Unfortunately, Il Regalo has no control over these charges and cannot predict or estimate the amount that may be charged.
If you have questions regarding customs duties, taxes, or FedEx brokerage, administrative, or disbursement fees, we recommend contacting FedEx or your local customs office before placing your order.
Important Notice for Customers in the United States
Due to recent changes to U.S. customs regulations, orders that were previously exempt under the U.S. de minimis rule may now be subject to import duties, customs processing fees, or other import-related charges upon arrival in the United States.
These charges are determined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and/or the shipping carrier, and are not collected by or paid to Il Regalo.
If you have any questions regarding applicable customs duties or FedEx administrative fees, please contact FedEx directly before placing your order.
For Customers in the European Union (EU)
Please note that Il Regalo is not registered under the Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) scheme.
As a result, VAT and any applicable customs-related charges may be collected by customs authorities or the shipping carrier when your shipment arrives in your country.
Customs Declaration
We are legally required to declare the actual value of all shipments.
We are unable to:
- Declare a lower value
- Mark shipments as gifts
- Alter customs documentation upon request
Refusal to Pay Customs Charges
If a customer refuses to pay import duties, VAT, taxes, customs charges, brokerage fees, administrative fees, or any other import-related charges and the shipment is returned to us, the customer will be responsible for all return shipping costs, customs charges, handling fees, and any other expenses incurred.
Any costs resulting from the returned shipment will be deducted from the refund amount.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why did I receive an invoice from FedEx after delivery?
Import duties, taxes, VAT, customs clearance fees, brokerage fees, administrative fees, or disbursement fees are charged by the destination country's customs authorities and/or the shipping carrier.
These charges are not included in the product price or shipping fee paid to Il Regalo.
Can Il Regalo tell me how much customs charges will be?
Unfortunately, no.
Import duties and related fees vary depending on the destination country, customs regulations, and the value of your order. These charges are determined by customs authorities and the shipping carrier.
Can you mark my package as a gift or declare a lower value?
No.
We are legally required to declare the correct value of every shipment and cannot alter customs documentation upon request.
What happens if I refuse to pay customs charges?
If a shipment is returned because import duties or other customs-related charges are refused, all costs incurred—including return shipping, customs charges, and carrier fees—will be deducted from any refund.
